i did this in december, 1995 – ! at the time i thought i would be back in a few years, but since it never happened, i’m glad i appreciated it fully at the time.
went with the aggressor fleet, a half dozen crew & about a dozen divers. can’t get much closer to nature than that ! well. ok, there was that time my buddy & i drifted far from the others, and there we were, floating in aquatic wilds & waves while they looked for us. i wasn’t worried, but my buddy was. i think he had the right idea ;-)
so many sharks, i often opted to spend time looking at the little things instead. then there was the dive i chased a school of hammerheads. narcosis will do that to a person ;-)
the landside tours were just as enjoyable. quite a trip; not the party-party stuff of the caribbean, but a more intense experience. bone up on darwin ahead of time.
we also had a side trip to the amazon basin for a few days, so we got to see quito, guayaquil, and the interior of ecuador as well. what a country !
quito: we walked into a bar, and monday night football was on the big screen tv. at least in the islands there were no pizza huts ;-)

I will comment more later, but this really was a fantastic trip.
I’ll rotate some pictures thru here.
Here is the link to my travel diary for this trip. I have SO MANY great photos from this trip, it is taking me hours to format them all. It will take me a couple weeks to get this page finished.

Well, I guess I can check this off since I have already done 5 dives here. Already dove with sea lions, hammerheads and white tipped reef sharks.
But I have many more dives to do here this week, so I will leave this active for now.

Greetings all. I’m in Guyayquil, Ecuador right now. Lovely place. It’s possibly the most developed place I have ever seen in South America.
Lovely hotels, plaza, shops and restaurants.
Anyway … I fly out tomorrow and won’t be online for a week or more.
Take care.

Well … not to be outdone by Juliana’s extravagant globetrotting:
I am booked on the Lammer Law (http://www.lammerlaw.com) to dive the Galapagos for 1 week from Jan. 29 to Feb. 3.
It’s a luxury trimaran that cruises the Galapagos Islands.
Gonna dive with TONS of shark. Hopefully dive with a whale shark and hammerheads. See marine iguanas. The whole works.
And all in Juliana-like style. ;)
(Why do I always mention Juliana in my entries … Am I in love with her or something? hahahaha)
Will post pics later.
