How I did it: I had to clean everything out. I had to throw so many things away but I finally got it done. I pulled everything out and sorted it. I then cleaned everything with bleach. I swept everything into a pile and vacuumed it up. I then bleach cleaned my entire floor, rearranged the cloths in the closet and made the bed. It took almost all day but all in all it was worth it. i’ve got to move a huge pile of things over to a storage unit, or something, and i need to do something with my memorables, cds, books, and documents, so i can have my living room back. i have a very small condo—582 square feet, but it has 13’ ceilings. so, plan on redesigning at some point. i’ve already been looking at books full of design ideas and suggestions.

went through the CD stack, and picked out a few to get rid of. Also went through the little end table and cleaned out a few things. Still have to go through the trunk with sports stuff, and I think there may be 1 thing to take out of the trunk, and the other end table. Then this will be done.

I’ll do it this week. Now I have my big bookshelf so I can finally get some order in papers, bills etc. I’ve put my books nicely in order.

I went through our dvd’s, vhs, and video games, and with Jake’s approval, decided on a lot of stuff that could go, and quite a bit has sold. I still need to go through the little end table and the trunk with all the sporting stuff in it.

I had no choice but to clean the living room, as I’d bought a new elliptical trainer and that was where it was destined to go. I shifted nearly everything out of the room, swapped the bookshelves and media shelves to opposite sides of the room (tedium, thy name is “moving stack after stack of CDs and books”), and shoved the rest into the corner to make room for the trainer to be delivered and assembled. Which it was, hooray! After the delivery guy left, it was time to restore everything to normalcy—including getting all the living room crap I’d relocated into my (previously spotless!) office out of the way, and getting the other crap I put in the kitchen out of the way as well.
After pretty much 48 hours straight messing around with the living room, I believe it’s mostly finished. I need to run an extension cord for my a/c unit and set it up in the window, but I’m holding off on that until it gets warm(er) enough out to justify that. I shifted some stuff out of the living room into a storage closet, and I’m getting rid of some more stuff. So, a/c unit and boxes of to-be-donated stuff notwithstanding, I have a pretty clean living room. Yay. :)
