and not write anything about how I did it so this goal will not ride along with me until I manage to do something else on my list.
But it’s not so hard to do. Just imagine what it would be like to dress like you love life, love being who are, and then do it!

you run the risk of becoming a fashion icon
that’s just the way it is
Imagine the pressure to give way to the expectations of other people’s designs.

I was thinking specifically of that turquoise dress when I put together today’s outfit. : )
I also purchased a dress in a print that I love, but would have previously considered too bold. : D
Here’s to colorful confidence!

that I can carry off Michelle Obama’s style, because I don’t have her willowy figure. But I admire her general clothing attitude of comfortable elegance. She looks like a woman who is comfortable with herself.
And more than that I admire her personal style in the world. Here is a woman who is smart, successful, well-spoken, thoughtful, playful, and a devoted mother and life partner. I am so looking forward to getting to know her better over at least the next four years.
Thanks for inviting me to this goal, Mahinui. It’s got me to thinking.

Jessy is feeling yucky again
People criticized the election night dress? I thought it was well planned. Obama had on a black suit, one daughter a red dress, one daughter a black dress. Michelle’s dress was red and black.
Criticism? Pfft! She has her own style, and yes, I want to dress like her in the sense that I want my own style, too, and to heck with what everyone thinks.

For the for the invitation. I appreciate a style that is bold, has individuality and above all else is comfortable! If Michelle Obama has her own style of dress, more power to her! I did see a few people criticizing her red and black dress, I don’t quite get that. Then again there is always someone who is going to have something to say when you express yourself and show that you are more than just a doormat.
Here is the first picture that came up when I googled her…

I had the taste and the grace to dress like Michele Obama! I will have to give up this goal because I am not half the woman she is. This is a woman who would look good in a paper sack. I look forward to watching her set styles in the years ahead much as Jackie Kennedy did years ago only with an intelligence unexpected but much admired.

We dress up our surface as a reflection of who we imagine ourselves to be. And we have role models.
Insofar as a public persona goes, what better role model than Michelle Obama. Her style shows a strong affinity with color. Golden yellows, camellia reds, Hawaiian waters aquas.
Most important is that she does not adapt herself to the women who have gone before her in similar roles. Have you ever seen her in a chic Chanel suit with pearls? It was nice for Jackie forty & fifty years ago, but that is a lot of time for progress.
Michelle Obama is an original. Her wardrobe choices have been criticized as if she ought to be emulating old styles and old ways. I say, hurray Michelle for personal courage.
Hurray for blue jeans and tank tops, shoes you can walk in, and colors as brilliant as tropical flowers.
Hurray for a surface that challenges traditions and looks like a celebration.
