Upgrade my digital camera

I’ve been playing with it all weekend. The zoom is great, the extra mps are great.

But I have to remind myself NOT to buy things online without having seen them. I thought it was just like the Z700, but with more power. It’s actually bigger and I didn’t pay attention to the fact that the viewfinder is an EVF…like a little video camera that jumps and hops and looks completely unlike the photo you’re going to get. Guess this will drive me to use the big LED screen, which is a better representation.

All in all, I like it.

According to UPS tracking, the camera left Ontario, CA for Lancaster, CA at 3:45 this morning. I don’t know how they’ve managed not to arrive in Lancaster yet. Guess there must be multiple stops in between. Once it gets to Lancaster, I’m about 20 miles out in a less-populated area, so it’ll probably take a while. It was sent 2-day air on the 23rd, but does Thanksgiving Day count, even though they did move it that day?

Guess I should change out of my pajamas at some point today just in case. Well, maybe I’ll wait until I see it’s in Lancaster. :)

Over the weekend I shopped around, looking for a smaller camera with more power. But I found I don’t really like the feel of a smaller camera in my hand. I thought I’d found the one I wanted at a great price by shopping a retailer online, but they didn’t have the same deal when I got to the store. I wasted about 2 1/2 hours last night chasing it around. I don’t have this kind of time to give up right now! (But I’m looking for a deal. No money tree in my yard.)

Then this morning there was a better deal from Costco in my email! The camera I’ve been using has 2 megapixels and a 3x zoom. I was stalking this 4.1 mp/5x zoom last night. This morning, for a very reasonable increase in price, I ordered the Kodak Z7590. 5mp/10x zoom. I love to zoom!

It’ll still fit in my bags… I don’t usually carry a small purse, anyway. My trusty ol’ camera is balking and pausing, so I’m really looking forward to getting this one in the mail, hopefully in a few days.

Hmmm. I uploaded a photo for the goal. This is a fairly new feature. Interesting!!
