Best part of my day so far! 14 months ago

We had a off-site half day staff meeting today at a golf course. The second half of the day was a mini golf tournament. All I wanted to do was drive the golf cart. I don’t care much for golf! When I got in the driver’s seat I told my co-worker in the other seat, “By the way, I only have my G1 (not full licence) and I haven’t driven in a while.” He said, “That’s fine. Just put the pedal to the metal.” It was fun!
I could totally get a job at a golf course driving the beer cart. I would love that! :D

oh yeah! I’d love to drive a golf cart! I’m doing it this summer so yay! =]

I did it! 2 years ago

It was everything I thought it would be! I went to Suburban Lawn and Garden with my friend because they let you drive their golf carts around their property to look at all their trees. It was awesome! I’ve done it twice now and I’m not done yet!!!

Grand theft golf cart thwarted 3 years ago

Oh so close to achieving this goal, I wanted to steal a golf cart when I was at the Berjaya beach, golf and spa resort on Tioman Island. They had some just sitting there unattended, but sadly I looked and couldn’t figure out how to turn it on. Some looked like they had keys (damn it all, they were not in them) but others I didn’t see the ignition thing at all. Since I can’t even drive a car, I have no clue how to hotwire golf carts. Plus dad was totally against the idea. He is such a spoil sport. Although I guess that on an island there is nowhere to run so he may have had a point. Foiled attempt this time but I shall prevail.

Golf, or something like it. 3 years ago

I went and played golf today. Well, I use the term “golf” loosely.

2 carts, 4 people. Mom and me in one, Dad and brother (Kelsey) in the other. We would always start our own balls from the Women’s tee box, but then we’d hit from whoever’s ball was closest. We didn’t really keep score, because I don’t think the boxes on the score cards have a place for double digits….

The golf carts were the best part. You could drive all over everything, and not get in trouble (yes, we did adhere to the 90 degree rule, for all you golf pros out there…well, we mostly did, anyway). Plus, were quick little things, and you felt like you were flying, even though the maximum speed was probably about 3 miles per hour. I found some pretty flowers that were blooming all over the course, and decorated the Girl’s Cart with them. Mom and I would take turns driving, even fighting each other for the wheel at some point.

Plus, we got to race each other all over the golf course, because we didn’t want to be so slow that we’d have to wait for someone else to play through. So the drivers would hit the ball, and the passengers would catch the cart while it was already on the way to the next hole (this involve a bit of creative running and jumping skills). My mom and I also got very good at drive-by-ball-picking-up. It actually is harder than it sounds, believe it or not. We also practiced drive-by-flower-picking.

This course was not the best of places (we nick-named it Cow Patty Pastures), but it was really cheap ($10 per 9, $10 per cart), and they didn’t have to do much to create “obstacles” on the course (sand, rocks, water, hills, etc.) because there were plenty already there. In fact, one of most beautiful shots of the entire day (9 iron) was right into the middle of a big lake. sigh I wonder how many balls I could get if I went swimming….

It was pretty cool, at some island (I cannot remember the name for the life of me) in Lake Erie, I drove a golf cart around the place. It was pretty badass, I almost wrecked it.

I know it’s silly, but I’ve always wanted to drive one ever since I was a kid. While living in California, I traveled to Catalina island but wasn’t old enough at the time to rent one.
