I was in Paris the summer of 1990. Of course we went to see the Opera house. I got some great pictures of the exterior and some of the main staircase. However, the guides were on strike, so that is as much of the Opera House as we were going to see. I hope to go back some day.

What greater epitomy of romance, culture and intrigue than the Paris Opera house? Of course I fell in love with it long before the Phantom of the Opera became so en vogue. I fell in love with the perfect bubble in which to appreciate the depth of the soul of the artists who’s works are presented there. The architecture is absolutely breathtaking and even mentally erotic. The history of it and the fiction written about it just adds to it’s already intoxicating ambiance.I especially would like to photograph it from it’s own roof looking down.
