Had a walk in the botanical gardens 3 days ago

and thoroughly enjoyed the immaculate beds of indigenous plants and groups of delicate orange butterflies flitting around some of the bushes.

The 60km drive there and 60 km drive back was well worth it.

Going right across town 2 weeks ago

to sit for a bit, sipping a cocktail and listening to a very disreputable looking trio of musicians who play jazz at a cafe in a bohemian part of town.

No more moulting bears 3 months ago

Went for a hair cut this morning and therefore I don’t resemble a moulting bear at the moment.

    Am VERY red headed!

Found a book on sale 3 months ago

yesterday. It’s about colour, as in the word descriptors for colours, the makeup of colours e.g. the amount of cyan, magenta, yellow and black in each colour.

I LOVE looking at the colours, the descriptors, the composition of each colour and comparing different colour samples.

    I enjoy this hugely.

A super tea in an arty place 4 months ago

    yesterday!

This was the loft tearoom at Crabtree and Evelyn at the Design Quarter.

It’s decorated in a shabby chic style. The four walls are painted a soft buttery crea, eu de nil, and a soft lime colour. The chairs and tables are mismatched, and acentral long table displays the cakes and has a tower of brightly coloured cupcakes. Shop colours of green, hotpink and orange are evident in the displays. A wrought iron chandelier draped with red crystals lights the till area.

I enjoyed a pot of earl grey tea, served in willow pattern china, and a plate of small, dainty sandwiches.

DH had a milkshake and a scone.

REALLY enjoyed the attractive surroundings. And the sandwiches were good too.

    (this morning only).

We are going to a concert this afternoon in celebration of a Hayden anniversary. There are a couple of choirs – the Pacific Boy’s choir out from the states, another adult choir, and a pianist.

    Looking forward to it.
