Have a career that I enjoy

I feel so far away from this right now.
My job is easy and I get to manage my own workload, which I like.
On the other hand it’s unchallenging, repetitive and unfulfilling.
When I’m walking on my way to the office I pass a homeless man who greets me with a friendly “good morning” every day. When I get into work my colleagues do not even say hello! It’s not that I am being singled out and excluded, that’s just the way that everyone is. Get into work, sit at desk, stare at computer screen, do work, go home, repeat. People only interact when it is absolutely necessary and I think it’s kind of sad.
On a more positive note I am looking for a new job, no luck so far but will keep trying.

I want to do something that genuinely helps people currently i volunteer with habitat 4 humanity and want to get involved with youth ministry and counseling

One day I hope to have a career in the field of proofreading and/or copyediting. I currently work in the Journals Publishing department for the Institute of Physics and saw this as my ‘way in’. Sadly, things were not as I imagined and there is no easy way to progress within the company. I do like the job but I don’t love it. Once I have become more qualified I will look for something more relevant to my dream career.
