Well, I sort of cheated on this goal. I created it when I found an event I actually wanted to attend. But regardless, I attended. The group calls themselves PDX Nightowls, and like the name, shoot night photography. There were probably 7 of them, all very friendly. We went to the top of a parking garage and took long exposure photography, then went down to the street for some more. I definitely felt more safe and apart of something greater standing up our tripods in groups of 3-4. Eventually I got separated from them, but no worries, as I was 5 blocks away from home anyway.
Goal was definitely worth it. This year I’m trying to be as social as possible, having 2-3 things to do every week to get me out of the home and meet new people. Never thought photography as a social outlet, but given the Internet and it’s magical powers, there’s a group for everything =)
