my efforts are evaluated by my kids, my wife and myself.
Whilst I think I am doing great (OK ! Doing alright).. the others think there is a huge room for improvement..
I could just do my bit and label myself great, but does it really make me feel great ? Dont think so !!!

Jason is right side up in an upside down world
My 2 oldest kids have a program at their school called “Watchdog Dads” where dads come to the school to help out the students. I signed up for it this year, and I’m pleasantly surprised that the turnout was great!
It’s good to see so many dads that are excited about their child’s education.

Father's Day
I introduced Father’s Day in my country (Sudan) to coincide with the launch of a radio station in 2005.
Men were really happy as they got the recognition they deserve as fathers..

This is not as easy as it sounds..
I mean it is not like you get an AWARD and that’s it.. meet you next year for evaluation (like the Oscars)
It is an ongoing process.. daily, hourly..
I have been blessed with three kids 12,10 and 7
12 and 7 are difficult. They need a lot of attention, it is like walking on a minefield.
10 is easier.. he is lovable, cuddly and loving..
He is also forgiving.. and his emotions are very adult-like.

Today Mr 12 wanted to ride his bike with me while I ran.
I didn’t really feel like running – “Too much other stuff to do” – but how could I refuse my son?
I thought 5 kms – then he wanted to do 12 – I thought 10 was a good compromise, but like a great personal trainer he got me to do 12 kms.
I was thinking what great kids I have – and it lead me to ask if it was because of me & in spite of me? I truly believe I have been a positive influence in their lives and feel I can tick off this goal!

Miss 18 asked if I would dye her hair. I’ve done it before – years ago – but wasn’t sure about it, but said I would give it a go. I’m glad I did.
It was a great chance to chat & she was pleased with the result – dark brown.

I watched Fever Pitch with my son & then we played subbuteo. Arsenal won 5 – 4 against Manchester United.

So, yesterday Nick and I are watching the Giants play the Cardinals. The game starts and I am explaining to him different strategies, etc. He looks at me and said he had a question. I’m like… sure buddy what is it?
“When do we get to start yelling at the TV?”
I love this kid.
