someday when i have even a Little money to travel…
Claire, my travel partner has been registered for awhile, and has even hosted people. In light of the dollar exchange rate, even hostels seem exorbitant, and the couchsurfing option seems like it will be a fun and interesting way to meet people. I like the philosophy of openness that I’ve seen on the site. It reminds me of the days when I traveled a lot and felt like the world was “mine”. I remember when I finally settled in Boulder, Colorado after a two month roadtrip, that it felt like the ground beneath my feet was still moving. It felt so odd to live in one place after traveling for so long.
Absolutely gorgeous concept… Allows one to discover the world through the best of its part: humans!
Just the best way to travel, methinks. And hosting other open-minded people from far away is such a great experience. No money involved, just people of good will.

We just had our first hosts last night and it was a real delight. They were charming youngsters, very polite and respectful, full of life too. I sound like an old granny, there, uh?

CouchSurfing seems like an extremely interesting way to travel and meet a lot of open-minded people from all over the world. It’s all about sharing, and what’s better?
