learn how to make pottery

.....it is still something I would like to learn, but right now is not the time. I am cleaning off my 43 things list for some new goals that need to be worked on.

Now just to sign up…even found a partner to take the class with me. Probably will do the winter classes rather than the fall classes, still nice weather, would like to do as much outdoor activities as I can before moving indoors.

Well I’m in a class right now, and its fun. I focus so much on what I’m doing when I’m trying to make something that I forget about everything else going on in my life, which is very relaxing in a way. Also, I will have stuff around my house now that I can show to my friends and say, “hey- I made that!” : )

I have not began to learn how to make pottery, but I have added pottery to my deocrating scheme. I am so happy to be on the search for pottery samples. I just love picking up a unique piece of clay and finding someone’s name and year engraved on the bottom. Something in me delights in the fact that this piece of clay was the handiwork of an aspiring sculptor. I have a few pieces sitting around my living room.

I am taking a class. It’s coming along well. Goal- set of bowl, platters and a pitcher.

I need to find a community college that has this for a class. I wanted both throwing pots and pouring slip. with a kile That we are able to use.

It reminded me of being a child again playing in the sand, or in the mud, or even with playdo…
was lovely…I am keeping it up and have made over 100 things in the past year….:)

...then do it. it sure taught me a lot on patience, persistency and hand-brain coordination.

I just think it would be fun to take a soggy lump of clay and play around with it until it’s something I would be proud to put on display in my house…......
Not to mention the fact that it would bring back great memories of sitting in my grandmother’s backyard and making mud pies. ;p
