As a Phoenix RisingNow that miss lily belle's weight

is doing so good I need to think about trying to get her to help out around the house again.

She is saying she needs six months to a year of a really good weight before she can consider helping out. You know, so she doesn’t get stressed or burn too many calories when she doesn’t have all that many to spare. 3 months ago

As a Phoenix RisingMiss Lily Belle, Would you, Could you...

make me some chicken noodle soup? I have been feeling sick all day. Would you make me some chicken noodle soup and then tuck me in bed to rest?

Oh, said Miss Lily Belle, I knew you weren’t feeling well when you went off to work today. I TRIED to make chicken noodle soup for you. I dashed outside in search of a chicken…. I got out the flour to make you noodles…. I turned the covers of your bed and warmed the sheets for you.

Oh! That’s what these feathers are…. and the flour covered floor…. and why you’re sleeping in my bed! Uhm…. thank you? 8 months ago

joie de vivreDear Luna

I appreciate that you are interested in finding and then attempting to kill the rats that lurk around the house.

However, what I don’t appreciate is you bringing a rat into the house, half-killing it, then deciding that you are tired of playing with it, and leaving it in the bathroom to play with later. Finding a partly disemboweled but still living rat is distressing to me.

The rat had to be picked up with tongs and flushed down the toilet. This was traumatic for other household members. You seemed to be unconcerned.

Next time you find a rat, just kill it, please.

Many thanks,

Your human companion 12 months ago

As a Phoenix RisingI am happy to report

that Miss Lily Belle has given a shot of medication and her symptons have disappeared. The effect of the shot is said to last about three weeks. Then I have the pleasure of giving her a pill every day, or every other day, for the rest of her life. Lucky me!

Because lily’s expenses have increased I told her she will totally need to embrace how the medication makes her feel so much better and start thinking about helping out around the house again. She has put up a bit of a fuss, but I promised to raise her allowance as additional enticement. She said she wanted to spend it on better tasting food, so if I hid the pill in her food she wouldn’t notice. I thought she was pretty persuasive and agreed. 21 months ago

As a Phoenix Risinglily belle is a bit sick just now

so I am not trying to convince her to do chores until she is well. She has lost 10 ounces in four months. Far to much for an eight pound cat, so her doctor is concerned. We are keeping the variables steady for six weeks and she will be weighed again.

I think this is a pretty good excuse not to do chores. I don’t want her to have a higher than normal calorie burn these next six weeks. 23 months ago
