How I did it:
I bought some sidewalk chalk at Target for the kids I babysit to use, but instead I ended up using it when my friend MJ came over one night. We colored the sidewalk at my apartment and my front door. Actually MJ did most of the coloring and I look pictures of it. Then my neighbors got mad at me because they all have giant sticks in their behinds. They had someone wash it all off, but it rained the next day... jerks.
Lessons & tips: Don't color the sidewalk around your apartment or your own front door or your neighbors will know it was you and complain... because sidewalk chalk is a crime. Color the sidewalk around someone else's door to throw off the hateful people around you.
Resources: Target, sidewalk chalk, my partner in crime, and booze.

So I have some really passive aggressive neighbors! Me and MJ painted my sidewalk with sidewalk chalk, and my neighbors told on me and the maintenance people came and sprayed the sidewalk with a hose. Those jerks! Knock on my door and tell me that you do not appreciate the smiley faces on my door step okay? For all those people know my kids drew that stuff! They didn’t even leave me a note or anything. I don’t know why that upsets me because I know that the rain would have washed it away. Maybe I’m the bad person in this though. Maybe I should realize that I don’t own the world and I can’t just go around with my sidewalk chalk and defile property with my flower scribbles. Man, I am such a horrible person. I’m surprised that I’m not getting evicted for my deviant behavior.

This also reminds me of my Hooters days. We had a huge bucket of sidewalk chalk we used to keep and we would go outside and chalk it up!!! It was so much fun! We would draw everything from body outlines to little pictures, we wrote quotes, we would write about promotions and stuff. It was so fun. There were two girls in particular that always wanted to go draw with the chalk and they made some really awesome pictures. That’s just what we did during our slow time. That and roll our boss’ car, and hula hoop, and roller skate.

Last night my friend MJ came over and we colored with sidewalk chalk. She was drunk, I was sober. It was pretty fun, but we had a bit of a scare because MJ wanted to write naughty words on the door to my neighbors house, and wrote and drew obscene things on the sidewalk. We poured water over everything naughty to wash it away… but we didn’t wash away the flowers and hearts and stuff all over the door to my house or the sidewalk around my house.
A word of advice, never, ever color your personal sidewalk with sidewalk chalk. I’ve heard my neighbors talking about it like, 5 or 6 times today. We colored my door so everyone knows it was me. I didn’t think about that at all last night. I will have to wash it off later. My neighbors are MAAAAAAADD!! I don’t know why, because everything “bad” was gone before anyone saw it. Mostly it just says things like, “I heart my sailor” and there are like, hearts, smiley faces, and flowers drawn on everything.
I’ll have to post photos once I get the downloaded.

I am going to get some sidewalk chalk to keep for when Zoe and Miranda need to get outside. I’m also going to get MJ in on it and one day we’ll totally sit outside and write on the sidewalk and get all messy.
A day or two ago, I took my big pale of chalks from Target and wrote huge song lyrics on my driveway. It was from the Postal Service, the first few lines:
“I’m thinking it’s a sign that the freckles in our eyes are mirror images, and when we kiss they’re perfectly aligned.”

I bought myself a 64 piece bucket for $5! Now I just have to find the time on a nice day…
my aunt gave me a container of sidewalk chalk so that we could write our every thought whenever we are moved. (I’m 19… my Aunt is liek 40 or 50. i love her)
i keep it in the trunk of my car. you wont believe how often this comes in very very handy
I’ve spent hours covering my college’s sidewalks and walls with swirly chalky rainbows just because I could. It’s wonderful.
