How I did it: I went to the bank, enquired about it.I gathered the forms and my payslips (my bank needed to know how much I made) and handed it back to them.They also offered me a credit card, so that was good.It arrived in the mail one week later, and I'm very happy!Now I can shop online, and hopefully reduce my bank fees =D Read how I did it…

Made my first purchase on my card.. Yeah yeah yeah.. I did get excited ok :P! Managed to buy a new pair of shoes from the States..
Now it’s the waiting game!
Mmm, it’s so good not to have that worry in the back of your head saying “Have i paid my credit card off yet?”.. Glad i signed up for debit..

Woo, i have received my card in the mail and have activated it. Now all i have to do is deposit money into my account. Oh yay :P

I forgot to update this on my list. I have received my debit card last week and it’ll be activated tomorrow. I’m happy with the decision although I’m still thinking about getting a credit card to start a good credit rating. But for now, I’m happy with my Visa debit card.

I have submitted my application online and it should be available at the bank in five days. So I suppose that would be on Friday if five days refer to five business days. I just hope they would accept my ID’s.

I just want a debit card for cashless shopping and shoppin online. I’m afraid of getting into problems if I apply for a credit card. I think I’ll apply for a Visa debit card at least before May.

I will never touch a credit card. I think i have seen what it did to my folks’ and i really don’t want to fall in debt. Plus with a debit card, you have the bonus of borrowing money from the bank if you desperately need it… I’m pretty sure you can get limits like $1000 if you ever need cash straight away. So yeah, many positives in a debit card! Shop online with your own cash. W00t.
