Learn to play the piano by ear

I’m almost ready to move this one off the list. I can pretty much play without music anything I set my mind to now. Not as richly as I’d like, but it’s getting there. A few more months practice perhaps?

I’m getting pretty close to considering this goal met. I can play almost any song I want now and even change the keys. It came faster than I thought. I guess I had a more solid base in music theory than I knew. Knowing the basic chord progressions helped tremendously.

i like the sound but not classical music.

Tired of being music-dependent. Have started by simply picking a song and attempting to play it by ear, starting with simple songs of only a few chords and no accidentals. Having some success. Need to ramp it up to more difficult attempts.
