We are photographers planning a several month long to a year long trip across the USA in 2011. We’re hoping to fund the entire trip through discounted portrait sessions and weddings along the way and are in the planning stages currently. We are up for going anywhere! We want to see it all before we find a place to call our own. Want to help us out? Join our Facebook group, invite all your friends to join, and let us know where you live and what type of portrait session you’d be interested in! How I did it: In a car with my mom! Moving from Seattle to DC. We stayed in hotels along the way and planned the trip well out in advance. We were on a deadline, so had to make it to DC by a specific day. Read how I did it…
How I did it: planned everything out for where we'd stay each night. mapped everything. brought a garmin. camped a lot. bring a computer too. you'll want to upload pictures so your camera can hold the 1000's you'll take. Read how I did it…

How I did it: During my last year of university I mentioned to a friend that hey, wouldn't it be fun if we did a cross-country road trip after graduation? Somehow, despite our best efforts, we actually managed to get our act together and took a trip! There were three of us and we drove from Washington, D.C. to San Francisco and then back. We went via Chicago and Wyoming on the way out, and came back via Las Vegas, New Mexico, Memphis, and A… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Someday I'd still like to have one road trip where I cross the entire nation, but I've crossed it more than once already by combining various trips. I've driven every inch of Interstate 40, and the vast majority of I-70, I-10, I-90, and plenty of big and little roads that connect them together.I've also crossed the country in airplanes a multitude of times. And where the views are certainly different and have their own appeal, I prefer it… Read how I did it…

ButtonGirl27 is getting there!
I am currently on this trek across the USA. It has been great! I am actually on the way back home now, but we are still about a week away. It has been such an adventure so far filled with interesting people, places, and experiences! Oh…the stories and memories we’ve made are a lot!
We’ll be leaving on or around May 31—we still haven’t even done much packing, let alone made arrangements to travel. In fact, I need to make several moving-oriented goals, like finding a home for the fish (I really don’t have confidence that the fish could survive a drive across the country, unfortunately :( ) .
Flazzle wishes there was something higher than 10 on the morale-o-meter! :)
I love road trips!

I am so excited! I can’t stop thinking about doing this…I wonder what will come of my “trying to quit smoking” while I’ll be on the road. Lots of candy cigaretays probabably!!! I shouldn’t look that far ahead yet….

Well…it looks like I may do this in the next month or so. Sometime after I get back from an upcoming Philly trip. I am soooo excited! It just kinda came about unexpectedly. Unfortunately my friend got laid off from her job, and since she is not having much luck finding a job we’ve decided let’s go on a road trip! Since I have been wanting to do this for ever and I have money saved up I am totally in! I’m a waitress so not a huge deal about taking time off. This is too good an opportunity to pass up. There might not be another chance like this. I feel like we’re supposed to do this, and now. Anybody have any good suggestions? places to see, ways to budget, etc..we are wanting to be pretty spontaneous since it just kinda came about
GirlMisanthrope thankful that we finally have warm weather in Seattle
I’ve told two people about this goal. Both said,”yeah, I’ve heard other people proclaim they would do that and they never did.” Well my friends that is just inspiration for me!!
