This should have been marked off a while back.. 3 years ago

..as over the past year, I got to spend a lot of time with him…and I plan to keep this tradition going….
The man is 86 and a model of strength and grace

My Paternal Grandfather and my Maternal Grandmother are the two dearest souls in my life… bar none

Funny, as my grandfather is only a few minutes away yet I sometimes struggle to find time to be with him. On the other hand, my maternal grandparents are on the other side of the planet and I wish to be with them every day!

Our elders are our link to the lost era…. a reminder of the previous generation.. guides to our past .. our cultural values, traditions and ancestors

They have braved time and are full of knowledge and wisdom which they are eager to pass on to you

ANYONE who drops by to read this rant and is lucky enough to have senior members of their family with them Please take some time to be with them…If you’ve had your differences or grown apart over the years..now is the time to rebuild that relationship! You don’t know how much they miss you and how delighted they are every time they see you or hear from you!

    No one loves you more

Send them an e-card or a letter… surprise them with phone calls more often or just drop by and give them some much needed company….If they are far from you, plan out a road trip or a vacation over the next break

Seek their council and value their advice..
Ask them to discuss some of their cherished memories and accomplishments with you again..
Serve them and care for their needs and comforts..
    Cherish your time with them…
    Connect with them..

    JUST BE WITH THEM….....

I really enjoy spending time with him. But living in a different city makes it difficult. I need to just set aside a weekend a month to visit him.
