I think it’s such a wonderful movie, and I wish people weren’t so terrified by it because the message is beautiful

Sorry Casey!! I cannot help you achieve this goal, as I already saw it, and have shared both the play and the movie with many friends for their first time! AH!! I LOVE Hedwig! Met JCM in LA at his Wig in a Box Album release! What a fantastic dude! But I guess you already know that! He Rocks! So talented, so nice!

Casey, I’ll let you know the next time I watch Hedwig, if you want to count that toward your goal! ~~I’m guessing that won’t help. :(

It’s a modern rock musical about a transexual diva who can somehow relate to everyone. It’s fun at times, sad at times, and at all times, interesting, evocative. The dialogue is sharp, witty, and often philosophical, but it also makes you feel. The artsy movie things are nice too.

I love the soundtrack and have memorized all the songs, including the ones not in the movie. This was a favorite of my debate team, and I introduced the movie to many of my friends, all of whom loved it as well.

What a fabulous movie!

truly original and entertaining. My mind is blown! A rock musical that works! And you get a poignant, yet funny story about gender-bending and all sorts of things. What a crazy-fabulous movie. Hope I get to see it on stage sometime.

And I have spread the love of Hedwig. I even dragged a friend to see the live show at a local theatre when it came to town.

I don’t generally go for films where people suddenly sing in the middle of a scene, but this was really good and lots of fun, with a sing-along-able soundtrack to boot. I’m glad I came upon it on HBO at about 3 in the morning a while back. :)

When I saw this movie the first time, what a wow ! I went to the movie theater without expectation, and John Cameron Mitchell (as well as yummy Michael Pitt) totally blew my mind.
The music (a whole character in this movie) is just excellent.
This movie talks about identity, difference, integrity, without boring a second. It makes you feel happy once you’ve seen it.

Glam, sex and rock n roll, baby !

this was such a great movie. it’s both hilarious and touching in its questioning of ‘self’ and ‘what makes us a whole person’. the music is awesome, and i’m not a glam rock lover by any stretch of the imagination.

the movie is great—john cameron mitchell is a force of talent, but i loved seeing the play in person even more.
