AbsnasmCalling all atheist BBC Radio Listeners.

A couple of months ago, legendary atheist Professor Richard Dawkins became the first atheist to deliver a Thought for the Day on the BBC’s Radio 4 Today programme. All good progress, right? Wrong!

Because of the BBC’s policy of not including non-religious contributors, his slot ran an hour after later than the usual time as an unofficial thought. You can read about it here.

I’m annoyed about this. Not only does it relegate atheism as somehow not a belief system, and less valid and worthy than religious beliefs which have just as little or less scientific evidence to support them, it’ll have gone out at 8.50am when the vast majority of the audience will have switched off and gone to work. Insulting and unfair.

If you think this is unfair too, why not join me and Redbandita in signing this pledge to let the BBC know about it? It only takes a second to sign up, and you’ll get an email in January reminding you to email the BBC and add your voice. 4 years ago

redbanditaAtheist may not contribute a "Though of the Day"

Read here about Richard Dawkin’s attempt to contribute and how it was placed into a different time slot because he is an advocate of atheism:
Atheist gives Thought for the Day
If you are also annoyed with this discrimination, why not sign a pledge to let the Beeb’s Religion and Ethics Department know? 4 years ago
