It’s actually happening. I bought the tickets! S and I are going! I am excited.

I found out how much tickets cost and where he is actually coming. And I told S. I still need to ask M and G.

My friend S, my sister, and I will, hopefully, get to see him this October. I hope it’s not too expensive.
i think it was the most exciting day of my life. he is my favorite author, and now my favorite person. i am going to try my very hardest to do this again. and again. and again and again and again and again!
I appreciate his work and that he spent time signing all of those damn books… I would say that people in line seem giddy and get anxious wanting to say something witty or be remembered or mentioned later, although this is rather annoying. He is a regular guy with a great personality.
mr. sedaris is a total riot. in all honesty i didn’t know who he was until they had him in Houston as part of the Society of Performing Arts package. i looked him up and saw that he won some sort of literary funnyman of the yr by time magazine awhile back. so i decided to go and he was funny as hell! so after the show i met him amd bought some of his books.. they freakin rule!
He read to a packed house in Austin, and he was brilliant! For those who have never heard his voice, once you do, you will never read his books the same way. You will always hear his voice behind the words, placing the emphasis in just the right places. When we met him, he asked us questions about US, was genuinely interested (as if he was mining material for something or other), and he drew funny little pictures and wrote clever little things in our books and on our cds instead of just signing “Love, Dave.” He was AWESOME! He is the epitome of geeky-coolness.
I saw him speak, and oddly enough, worked out next to him at the Y (alas, he didn’t crack any jokes). So funny, though (post-gym), in his dry, smart-assy kind of way…He had a real monkey fixation, and was really into wanting a monkey from this organization: http://helpinghandsmonkeys.org. Good luck!
But since I have him on my 43people list I’d like to free up some space for another goal.
David, if you’re reading this please don’t be offended! I haven’t removed you from my HEART. And that’s what really matters, right?
Call me whenever!
Lol
