razz51 is trying to get over the latest respiratory crud
But seeing the video of those poor sick “downer cows” getting beaten and forklifted to their slaughter only to be ground-up as lunch meat for our kids was the last straw. No more beef for me.

I have not had beef for over three years. Since November ‘04.
There have been accidents, but nothing intentional. After I found out, I would usually spit it up. It really hasn’t been that bad. The only thing that bothers me are Wendy’s Jr. Bacon Cheese Burgers…ooooo, but I can live without them. It’s just a matter of avoiding them, it really isn’t hard. Now, eliminating meat completely that’s incredibly difficult, but that wasn’t my goal. If that is your goal start slow. Get rid of one meat a year, or every six months or something.
I’m now limiting myself to eating beef maximum 1-2 times a week. I used to eat it every other day, but I just don’t want to eat it so much now since it makes me gain weight faster.
Grew up a meat and potatoes guy. Lost the beef craving, but compensated with a love for tater tots.
Going vegetarian made me feel so much better about me, the world, the factory farms i was no longer supporting…
And going vegan dropped my cholesterol by 35 points! I love it!
(And if you really can’t live without cheese… eat it every once in a while!)
that finally made me quit.
thats a rabbit hole you can get lost down, that mad cow. its total madness.
about 4 years ago, about how they treat cows with pesticides sprays before they are slaughtered. An image of these poor cows being dunked in vats of pesticides is what finally put me over the edge.
