How to to read one book a month for fun
How I did it: I signed up for an account with Goodreads.com after one of my friends asked me what my favorite kinds of books were and I couldn't tell her. While I'm sure some books have slipped through the cracks, I was able to keep track of the books that were reccomended to me, the books I read, and the books I liked. Since my 5 star rating system can be a bit skewed, I also started a list of books worth buying, which, with my philosophy towards accumulating stuff, means they must be absolutely amazing! Keeping track of what I've been reading also gives me a way to keep track of my year, allowing me to ask myself, what else was going on when I was reading that? I had though I had lost my voracious appetite for books. Not so. I was just better able to hide it from myself!
Lessons & tips: Keep track of what you read and what you want to read. Make sure you know where you're going to go next. Don't feel forced to finish a terrible book! There are millions of stories out there targeted to many diverse tastes, so if it doesn't float your boat, set it aside and move on!
