Since I never (literally) had friends over at my parents house, living on my own has become liberating in that I can invite whoever I want over whenever I want. Now if I only had friends…..lol.
I think the key to making guests feel comfterbal is giving them options of what they’d like to do, instead of just deciding ‘this is what we’ll do.’ Whether it’s movies, video games, board games, meals, or just talking. I think it’s also fun to get friends to try new things.

SuperHussy has not been here for a couple of months! *SIGH*
Good food, good beverages and having fun. No more anxiety in this area for me!

I think that this is going to turn into a spring cocktail party. Maybe an “end of Lent” celebration on Easter Sunday night or the Saturday night before.

As I prepare for my upcoming winter cocktail party, I will be able to put my hostess skills to work. Yeah!

My boyfriend’s sister threw a b-day party for her father in-law. It was cajun themed, the food was delicious and I had a lot of fun. Good friends/family + great food + awesome decorations + a little bit of alcohol = good times! ;-)

I don’t think I’m great yet but I think I do a good job at making people feel comfterbal. Maybe I’ll put a little more effort into this one.

I’d like to learn how to play poker because several of my friends know how and I’d like to get in on it. Don’t think I’d be playing w/ money, maybe candy. They did that once. I think I’m going to make an entire goal to learn how to play different card games.
I’ve been working on a list of things people can do at my house. I think giving guests different options and let them choose what they want to do helps put them at ease. So far I’ve got board games, card games, video games, watch movies, play DDR. Any other ideas?

I want my friends and relatives to feel welcomed and entertained. My parents are more introverted and don’t have people over much so I guess I just need to learn how to do this myself. From simple things like asking if they want something to drink to having a big DDR party. Just whatever I can think of to keep it lively. Any suggestions? Don’t be shy, I need all the help I can get. :-)
