admirabilia left to right
I’m fresh from the 401 east, well maybe not fresh smelling, wide eyed and satisfied none the less!
CANADA DAY WAS WONDERFUL!
I suggest that every canadian does this at least ONCE!
I feel so proud to be canadian, so much more clearly mindful of what it means to be canadian. We are a wholesome mix of tolerant AND grumpy people from all sorts of backgrounds with all sorts of cultural logics. We DON’T make sense, and we do art and culture with staid mediocrity, but we chug through it anyway, and we always clap at the end.
Also. The image above is of a Hockeystick-lobster from New Bruinswick’s cultural capital. what’s more canadian than that?!
I wore red.
I enjoyed the Changing of the guard, and the musical ride, via the jumbotron at parliment hill (because you really couldn’t see it over all those kids on shoulders!).
It was sunny, it was warm, there was lots of poutine and some great music and sights.
Saw molly Johnson last night, basia bulat, gladys knight on sunday, the soundcheck version of the canada day spectacular on sunday evening including a flubbed version of ‘o canada’ where the artists blue rodeo etc. forgot the words… apparently they didn’t know they were printed on the jumbotron behind them!
Anyway, lots of fun the whole weekend and even though we missed the fireworks (pout) we saw 5 different sets of fireworks as we litterally chased the sun eastward!
Hoorah!
So proud to be Canadian man, like, eh!
