play more Scrabble... and win by using more than a three and four letter vocabulary

I like playing scrabble and I want to play more this summer with my family.

Scrabble shows me how smart I am when I play a strategic game. I like to play Scrabble because it opens my mind. One of my big lessons is to always be aware of my surroundings. When I play a decent game of Scrabble, it is similar to playing chess. It makes me pay attention to every detail of what is going on around me and to plan my next moves in advance. When I am able to score big points through planning and come up with good words, I can see how much my mind has changed as I am growing. I’ve been playing scrabble since I was three or four, so it is actually pretty funny remembering what it was like to struggle to spell three and four letter words like “dog” and “cat” and “play”, and now my little words are like “hue” and “onus” and “gist”. Scrabble might look like sitting still for hours doing nothing, but the workout your brain gets with each game is exhausting.
