learn to knit, sew my own clothes and just be better with my hands

Currently working on my third scarf and planning a couple more to make for Christmas presents! Vogue Knitting’s finally arrived by post, but I think I’ll put off learning to knit till I get tired of crocheting.

I love it! Finished this one much, much sooner than expected. I just couldn’t stop. I’ve found crocheting is one of the most relaxing activities for me. I also located the sweetest, best little yarn shop here in Helsinki.

I ordered Vogue Knitting and am patiently awaiting its arrival. I’m already comfortable with crocheting, but am going to try my damndest to teach myself knitting. A friend was nice enough to try to show me, but that was a failure! I think I need to go it alone.

Tiger eyes. It’ll be even better with two more strings, I think.

I used to alter my own clothes, and even made simple tops or skirts on occcasion. We had an old sewing machine at the time.
All of the old coasters we used at our house were lovingly crocheted by yours truly.
The most I’ll do these days is shorten my own trousers or sew a button or close up a hole.

I’ve re-strung from unakite beads bought in Bali.
