So we have a 3000 ltr water tank now, but we can do more.
my plan is to eventually get a new toilet that uses less per flush (as well as having the half-flush option)and to use all of the grey water instead of running it down the plug hole.
Dish water? On the garden! Laundry water? On the garden! (only No phosphate, biodegradable detergents used here!) Cooking water? On the garden! (after cooling of course!)
We already have one of the most water saving and energy saving washing machines in the world (all hail Asko! http://www.greensage.com/pbPasko.html ), only do one load of laundry per week and have never had a dishwasher.
Need to get another rainwater tank – for rainwater off the the garage.

in the spring melt right now, so this is on hold.
Also, the best way I can use less water is to conserve more and that’s mostly buying new appliances, which is on our list.
If/when I get them, I’ll reactivate this goal.
