that….um…’fourth wall’ of walking-normally-so-i don’t-feel-weird-thing. Small steps! My stride has been much too big until now. I’ve been observing others with similar gaits, and one thing that i noticed is that they take too big a step so that their body drops down as they step forward, and then comes back when the feet pass each other, so to speak. My mind is feeling muddled right now, but I think that’s it. Wow. To think that all this time I thought I was just dwelling on this pointlessly. Luckily, self-deprecation is never off-duty. Even my ‘hyphens’ are working over-time. At one in the morning.

that voice is probably just the nerd.

So, I think that this 3 years ago

is just one of those things that you do without thinking about. In other words, I’ve not been listening to the little voice that says that I’m walking in a weird way.

learning how to walk.... 3 years ago

shouldn’t be this hard, should it? Why do I feel like I don’t consistently walk the same way? Without this becoming a joke, in all seriousness, it does seem like I can’t coordinate my body to walk normally. I feel like I walk like a troll.

My gait isn’t the same since I got injured at work and lost use of my leg temporarily. I’ve lost my cute wiggle when I walk and I now have “footdrop” which sort of makes a slapping noise when I walk. I used to think about how I was walking before but at least then it gave me a feeling of pride and the goal was to attract attention…now I just constantly have to think about softly placing my foot on the ground so I don’t attract attention to myself because to do so would mean explaining what happened all over again and feeling completely unattractive or unworthy of attention from anyone (but especially from members of the opposite sex.)
