wear a wig

How I did it:

• Searched online for trusted wig sellers at Cosplay.com
• Asked for suggestions from friends on websites I should look at
• Looked for wigs that I wanted on those websites suggested
• Set a budget [Synthetic = $20-$35 is reasonable, expect over $40 for longer wigs - Human Hair/Lace = much more, like over $75]
• Decided on a color
• Double-checked with Google and different wig sites to be sure of the color I wanted
• Emailed the seller with any other pertinent questions
• Ordered the wig immediately, and allowed plenty of time for it to arrive
• Tucked my hair into a wig cap
• Lined up the front hairline with my own front hairline
• Held the hairline of the wig down as I pulled the back over my wig cap and hair to the back of my head
• Adjusted as necessary
• Added bobby pins as necessary for security
• Styled/hairsprayed/trimmed
• Went out on the town!

Lessons & tips:

1. Only buy from a trusted seller - you can lose a lot of money if you don't!
2. Don't be afraid to play with the wig after it comes out of the package - just like normal hair, wigs sometimes need a little extra combing and fluffing to look their best!
3. Detanglers and products that cut static are your friends - they will keep your wig looking fine and not frizzy.
4. Combing carefully from the ends to the top when detangling - wig fiber becomes frizzy and nasty with improper detangling

• Wide-toothed comb [fine-toothed combs create extra static and have a higher chance of pulling on the wig fibers, frizzing or tangling them further]
