How to do the duke of edinburgh award.
"It made me realize what skills I have, and helped me learn new ones."
How I did it: I did the bronze award - so I did it over a period of 6 months for my skills. I think choosing which things I would like to do for 6 or 3 months was the most difficult part! Whatever activity you choose, it is definately worth it- the skills you learn/improve on are amazing.
Skills: Soft-toy making.
Physical: Gym and other fitness clubs.
Service: Peer-Mentor.
I recommend this scheme to any young person who is willing to put time into this - it's a marathon, not a sprint.
Lessons & tips: Keep at it - I found myself sometimes missing weeks off simply because I forgot or couldn't be bothered. Put your mind to it and you'll realise that you'll be finished in no time.
