Lynn is getting ready to take care of my pseudos all month
I completely recommend this, it was a blast, 3 or so yrs ago, I went in with hair down to my bra strap, I left with a VERY high inverted bob, long before celebs thought they were cool, so I was odd man out, but I loved it, and never would of had the guts to ask her to clipper half the back of my head if left to my own devices

trust your hairdresser! if he/she doesn’t know you or your hair, you could be in for a not-so-nice ‘do…

I’ve done this four times in the past dozen years at various places throughout the US. So as I sit down, they ask me what I want done and I tell them that I don’t know, don’t care but want them to do what they think will make me look the best. Then they freak. It’s like they don’t know what to do. Now I admit it could be scary when I’ve got beautiful long curly locks down to the middle of my shoulder blades. But at the same time, I’m looking for a change. I want something different, something I wouldn’t have thought of on my own. I don’t want some timid hairdresser who is afraid to cut more than a half-inch off. I could do that myself, and do more than that. My recommendation is to call ahead and discuss whether or not the salon has a stylist that will be comfortable crafting a new look for you.

...I like the idea of being a puppet in the hand of an artist. They always do a better job, hairdressers feel more responsible if you leave them doing their piece.
(anyway…you can use whigs if you’re not satisfied!:)

I got a pretty haircut that was tough to maintain. It was worth it for the prettiness but I did revert to my old style.

I always wanted to do the Extreme Makeover thing and just go to a hairdresser and let them decide what the want to do based on my face shape and body type. I would like to do this at some famous hairdreser in NYC!!!
