How I did it: * Went to the optometrist and set up and appointment.* Had an eye exam.* Sat down with an optometrist and practiced putting them in. * The first couple days just wore them briefly to get used to them.* Practice taking them in and out until they were comfortable. Read how I did it…

Haha, I’m getting there! I can put the contact lenses in and take them out (though not quickly) and I have an appointment for Friday after Thanksgiving to get the right prescription and see if my eyes are doing okay with them in. If that goes well, I will consider this goal done!
Not to say there weren’t embarrassing, dumb setbacks! I must be one of the only people who could possible have THIS much trouble just getting them in and out…otherwise I would have had them years ago (no exaggeration!).
On a trial period right now. i had them in for 8 hours today, they aren’t as bad as I thought they would be, regards to taking them in and out! So, I feel that this goal is done.
I went for my contact lenses trial yesterday. I passed out when they were measuring my eyes, and they decided that I should go back on the 8th November. Silly Rice.
I’m going for my appointment on Wednesday. Hopefully I own’t be too scared to put them in. I look so much better without my glasses, so everyone says, so I’d like to be able to see this for myself.
sometimes-well all the time people walk past me and say hi but I just stare at them or blank them because I can’t see them. If I can see them it takes me like 5 minutes to work out who they are. I would wear my glasses but I just don’t like wearing them except in classes coz they get in my way.

I have testers, but they don’t fit, surprise surprise. I’m puzzled as to how you can define astigmatism as your eyes having a unique shape and how you can make a general tester lens for astigmatics. It seems rather shady, and I’m wondering how many people are walking around with their contacts continually shifting and making them blink. I got testers for free, I only wear them when I’m acting, I have more important things to do at this place and time than worry about getting custom made lenses. Maybe later when I’m not trying to travel the world.
Kasia duuuude?
And I don’t know yet if it’s worth it or not. I think I look like a totally different person, but I feel the same. Everything is also much bigger (I have -6 lenses) and I look fat despite bmi 22 (and I’m getting on a diet from tomorrow!).
Now I can wear sunglasses!
And I hope the fact that I won’t wear glasses any more will destroy a bit of the distance that some people may feel. I’ve been told I look unapproachable. :p Now it’s maybe better but I feel ugly!
my eyes are really sensitive so my eye doctor said that i would probably have major problems with contacts. i can’t put drops in my eyes very easily cuz they are so sensitive. luckily, my eyesight is getting better now! so i don’t think i’ll even need contact lenses cuz i can see pretty well without my glasses!
