I am no longer particularly motivated to do this. At present I do not see how it would help me better achieve my other goals. My time is finite, and I believe I am more likely to achieve worthwhile results in other endeavours.
Bah! I’m being verbose. In short, I’m giving up.

Flash is so un-intuitive it’s really a horrible program if you want to do traditional animation. it’s great for flashy websites and all but if you want to do cartoons, purchase Toon Boom Studio instead. It’s camera moves and pegging outshine Flash by a longshot.

Its worth doing just 2 finish a couple of cartoons ,learn symbols, preloaders, buttons and frame by frame (straight ahead and pose to pose).Buy a wacom graphics tablet and your away, just you have to pay about £800 for everything(studio mx). Also consider the book ‘The animation survival kit’ by Richard Williams.I’ve been doing this for a year but have a bit to do yet but I’m sticking with it!

No progress. No effort toward this goal.

...because it’s cheaper and easier to make a movie if you don’t have to deal with, you know, real people!

A friend of mine has a book on how to teach yourself flash animation, and we are planning to learn together. So that’s a step towards one goal at least, but actually doing it is another thing entirely..

I’ve been using Flash since 2000, but only knew how to do frame-based animation. Over the last two years I’ve learned ActionScripting and can now do much more sophisticated Flash projects.
Worth doing! Not easy, though.
