finish my baseball mogul season

that I’m making very, very, very slow progress on this.

Um, yeah. I haven’t really gotten anywhere with this, because the game/simulation was set a bit off. So I have huge numbers of very, very good pitchers and a lot of weak bats. I’m trying to mitigate this by going through and literally, one by one, resetting every single overdone pitcher manually. This takes a while – quite a while. I’m going in alphabetically order by city, and I just finished the Cincinnati Reds on the train coming home.

Posted more on the story tonight. Just keep things going! Keep writing through the rotten week!

Also, I’ll be in O.C. in a few weeks, so I should get inspired…

Oddly, this has to do with my earlier stated goal of heading to the beach as well…and you get to see how I am at writing, albeit for a baseball story, not a smutty story. :-) The original explanation is here, and the story itself is here. I’m gonna do the next season!

My team went 74-88…not good, but for a first year team, it’s not bad at all! On to 1983! Ah, the glory days…

But it is still cool. The team is one game under .500 at the All-Star Break.

I will say this: I deliberately set up my team to be a collection of misfits, has-beens, and never-weres…so it’s really astonishing that I’m winning with them! I don’t think it’ll last, but I’ll enjoy it while it does.

...and it takes a long-winded explanation. I play a fantasy baseball game called Baseball Mogul. It’s a neat game and highly customizable, which is one of the reasons I like it so much. In any case, I used Mogul to recreate a team that I made long, long ago in a different fantasy league, back when I was a freshman in high school, before the whole “fantasy sports” craze really started, and posted about the team’s season on the “Dynasties” board at Sports Mogul.

Anyway, I went beyond that as well, and turned the posting into a whole story about the team, complete with real ballplayers and executives, and my fictional take on all of them.

Right now, the whole thing is down because I haven’t written anything on it in ages…but I saved it offline and can get back to writing it and posting it if I want to. And I’d like to get back to it…and of course having feedback from my friends here on 43T (even though most of you don’t know anything about 1980’s baseball) would be greatly appreciated.
