This is the easiest goal this week – I lent my car to someone and I’m on holiday this week. I’m travelling all over the place, and it is really enjoyable. Not having a time limit is particularly nice! Might ride over to the kayak club by the river tonight and see if there is anyone around to have a paddle with!

Men of the trees had a festival this weekend, so off I went, with bike and bag. I now have a new enthusiasm for gardening and a nice creeper to grow over the poor paper-bark which passed away this autumn.
I ride through Robertson park a couple of times a week but have recently taken the time to really stop and read about all the things that I already loved about this park. It houses the site of the reburial of a Nyungar Ancestor, an AIDS memorial and some fantastic wetlands and plantings maintained by the local catchment group.
Another thing that I would like to do is take a wine cruise by canoe through the Swan Valley. I found a company that does it, now I just need the 10 energetic people to make up the group…
I took a river cruise on the Swan River and it was lovely. (I want to write the commentary though, it was oh so sad. Let me write it for you – please.) Lousy commentary aside though, it was cool.
I have been cycling all over the newly developed section of Midland near the old railway workshops, checking out the scenery and a selection of public artworks. It has kept me interested for days!
Time to stop doing the same ride every Sunday morning. I took the long way ‘round, over the river and past a few big old mansions. What a beautiful view down the river from there – I normally only drive across that bridge.
