climb more trees

Never climbed a tree…. no joke.
While everybody boasts about the tallest trees they’ve climbed and the adventures they’ve had, I’m desperately eager to be a kid again and experience that thrill I’ve missed out on!

I’ve always liked climbing trees, I’m not sure why. I’d love to have more of them around that I could climb…and perhaps sit in without the fear of falling off if I happen to dose off.

I climbed a tree while playing “hide-and-seek” last week.

JWH found me right away, but it was fun while it lasted.

I really want to climb more trees.

It’s a sort of “freeing” feeling.

I want to sit in a tree and read a Dr. Seuss book.

Would you do that with me ?

climbed a blackberry tree today! got pretty high up, in the pursuit of blackberries. TOTALLY worth it. Fruit + climbing, so awesome.

i wasn’t into the sports scene at school. did cross country for a year, and that was probably because it was called “cross country”. I was always more occupied with the enviornment, my surroundings. I haven’t climbed a tree (like really climbed in, to the top) in years. maybe 3 or 4 years. that is depressing and i’d like to start climbing again. who knows, maybe i’ll add mountains to my list soon.

Ok. So maybe next time I’ll wear shorts when climbing a tree :D I was with my girlfriend yesterday and while she did some writing I started to climb a tree close-by. Half-way up the tree I manage to rip a nice large tear across the back of my left thigh. Argh. My new jeans arrived in the post today, perfect timing, so I won’t be pant-less. They’ll probably be alittle tight for climbing though. Keep a pair of shorts handy. Heh.

I’ve climbed quite some trees this year, often to connect a strong cable to pull them down. It was great every time, and I really got better than I ever was in tree climbing, regardless of the trees being thin or thick or having low branches or not. (Yes, that’s a smug look on my face.)

I even did kind of a tree-climbing competition with a friend at one time and of course showed off to everyone else at every opportunity! ;-)

yesterday i babysat for some much adored kids i’ve known since they were babies, and we had some fun playing hide and go seek. i hid, poorly, in a tree. lovely times. trees are indeed friends.

First, I will select a tree. Then I will hug it. Then I will begin the ascent.
