As I was coming back, the lightning struck fairly close. It was ear-splitting.

It was great. I had on a short skirt, 2 anoraks that covered it (so I looked like a perv) and flip flops. I walked round the corner, got absolutely freezing/soaking in about three seconds flat and came back inside, my neighbours watching the whole thing
screw them, they were too scared to go outside! :D
Best one was when it rained really hard and me and a friend had a waterfight with puddles. Then I got in huge trouble because I wasn’t really meant to be out since I’d been off school with a migraine (I genuinely had one, but I hadn’t seen this friend in months so I braved it)
as always, it was worth it :)
I’ve done this a couple of times but only because I happen to be out when the thundertorms started. I like the feeling and the sounds and the way outside looks during a thunderstom. maybe I’m just wacko.
I love the rain..and a thunderstorm is the best kind of rain to me. but to me to be outside in it is truly a whole new world.
I was hiking up at Lake Tahoe. The lightning struck a nearby peak. It was, literally, hair-raising!
I only went out after the lightning had let up a bit, on a bicycle, in a shirt that dries up quickly. Well, I met the spirit of the goal :)
This is a must-do! The raw power, the forces of nature make you feel so free and yet so a part of everything. The ionized air smells cleansed, and everything is greener, clearer.
Just remember, if you feel the hair on the back of your neck standing up, bend over and grab your ankles, or lay down flat on the ground, ‘cuz negative ions are gathering at your highest point and turning you into a lightning rod. You want to spread them out over a broader surface.
