Last week I had a organized a reunion for people I went to school to whom I hadnt seen for so long. To be sure there would be a lot of people, I started talking about this reunion several months before the day it was going to happen. It was the first time I was trying to organize an event that involved more than 5 people.. I was so scared that no one would be interested. To my big surprise, a lot of people says the idea was interesting and they were glad I took this initiative. THis gave me strength to continue to organize this event. I consulted people, set the date and the place based on the most popular choice. However, when I sent out the invitations, only a third of the people replied that they would come. Even worse, at the event, only 5-6 people showed up.
As my first experience on leardership and organization of parties, I was deceived. But on the other hand, I learned. I will now use this experience to avoid making the same mistakes. Next time, I will try to be more persuasive, I will learn to recognize in which case I should make the decision by myself and when I should consult other people.
