How I did it: My best friends and I had met a woman-rapper at a place called Unity. We starting composing and then we went on to making a CD. It was one of the best things that I have accomplished yet. The group was composed of about... 7 people, we sang 2 songs my bff's and I on the CD, though. It was a great experience.

Lessons & tips: I learned at the time (I was about 12) that making music, writting and singing in a booth was also Soooo exiting yet a little frightning. s: There was the guy that made me sound better then worst.. sometimes. lol

Resources: The resources was the singer-rapper Dee. She was a great resources, we had preformed infront of an audience also, but we were way to nervous=raté! big time. The products we used was the booth (a real one) (:

    It’s much better making your own cd’s rather than buying them. YOu have a bette selection of songs of them. Btw, congrats to all of those who made cds with their own music!

    I realized I have two very similar goals so I’m closing this one!

    Technically, I have made a CD with my songs (to send off to a competition once, & one for my own listening – very low quality, but still..) & a couple of cassettes with low-key recording..

    More people seem to post in ‘Record an album’, so I’ll keep that one, even though I’m pretty undecided whether an ‘album’ is what I want, or I-tunes singular tracks are the way to go… (or some odd mixture of both)

    The key is to record my songs, as ‘documents in time’ (to free my head for new ones), in whatever shape they may finally appear…

    I’ve written a bunch of songs lately. Some I really like.. at least at the moment…

    Recorded 5 so far, & may record more if Mom doesn’t come up…

    It’s sucky-recording mostly, just to see the time… (&adjust songs if necessary), I have most on cassettes already, that’s easier & more immediate for me…

    YAY for me!!

    Some low-key songwriting/recording 2 years ago

    So today I went through some of my songs again, & edited/rewrote two. (They are still not perfect, but getting there…)

    I recorded a few on the old cassette recorder, cause it was stormy & the PC was turned off. Actually a guitarist guy I know said cassettes might be acceptable to musicians, so what the heck. The thing is to have the melody recorded, I can always re-record later.

    It is funny how there are times when I don’t feel inspired for such things at all, or how sometimes I just can’t decide on a song lyrics, while other times, it’s ‘Okay… Let’s do it.’

    & what inspired me today? Oh, the lame-ass music on the radio. Made me wanna listen to my old recordings.     I have a microphone on my computer…so technically I CAN MAKE A CD! I just need to compose about 20 songs…hahahaha!
    anyway, it’s coming…it will be a little bit of everyhing!
    -accordion
    -drums
    -keyboard
    -maybe some vocals!
    Anyway I’m going to jump on my trampoline and think up some TUNES!
