learn how to ski

My friend is trying to convince me to go skiing. I’m too scare to though. I hope one day I can overcome this fear and just go for it!!

I’ve always wanted to learn how to ski and snowboard. I would always visit Colorado but the only “snow activity” I’ve ever done was snowmobile, which is very fun, but I’d like to add skiing and snowboarding to my abilities. And not run into a tree.

I went skiing Saturday with my S.O. Dennis. My experience: I had been down a very small bunny hill a couple of times a few years ago.

I was nervous about the lift on my first run, but that wasn’t bad at all. But at the top of the hill I kept falling and couldn’t figure out how to get up and was ready to quit. I was so close to throwing a temper tantrum and I think Dennis was close to throwing me out of his life. I made it down, after falling on purpose several times (I felt like I was going so fast and out of control.) and we headed over to the bunny hills for a bit of practice. Things went well, I was sort of learning to turn, so I went back to the small hill I started on. I got the turning down okay, not good enough for my liking, but at least the turning I did slowed me down so I wasn’t just barrelling down the hill full speed, full of terror.

So, the day started out crappy, but ended fairly successfully. Hopefully we can get one more day of skiing in before winter is over; I’m hoping to get a run down the big hill!

I didn’t take lessons to learn how to ski (maybe i should have? Lol) ....a friend first told me what to do, then i kind of just taught myself. Being at the top of a mountain is scary at first, but also gives u that adrenaline rush!
Im still not the best skier, but last time we went to the slopes i kept up with everyone else.. and considering im usually not a very co-ordinated/sporty person, i think i did really well!

I have never done that.. And I slowly run out of money :/ But I need to buy: new shoes, used skis, jacket and I will be happy :D I will have to spend more money than I should in this month, but I’ll hopefully get a job in February so I’ll make it. I’ll try to buy this in these 2 weeks.

We will probably still do a family day trip or two this year so we’ll see how that goes.

I think it’s a wonderful sport, but really, snow is wonderful even without it.

Skiing is the best. I learnt when I was a little kid and want to continue to travel the world and ski for ever. It is totally worth learning.
