I have made absolutely no progress in this since I added the goal. It is not one of my top priorities, but I’ve always wanted to learn.
And just typing, soon I will, doesn’t change anything. It does not change a single action or create one.
If I want to do something, I’ll do it. 4 weeks ago

I hooped for an hour. ;)
I figured that as long as I was just going to watch some football (and Extremem Couponing) I may as well burn extra calories. According to my HRM, I burned 385 calories hooping. :-D 3 months ago

How I did it: I watched several YouTube videos to learn what to do. My third hoop was the charm. After trying (and failing) to hoop with hula hoops that were too small, I finally got an appropriate, adult-sized hula hoop! (K-Mart special!) THe size is important:the smaller the hoop, the faster it spins and the harder it is to keep the hoop up.
It took me two days to be able to get the hoop going around because I want it to (not just because of momentum). Hooping counterclockwise is easier for me now (I've almost got clockwise down too).

I got a hula hoop as part 1 of a belated birthday present. And being too embarassed to try it out right when I got it, I went home and attempted hula hooping in front of Brad (while he was ‘watching’ love in the wild).
Let’s just say… I stink! ha ha! But I don’t even mind. I’ll get better. Brad and I were laughing our butts off taking turns (part of the reason I can’t say here!!). He even found me some instructional YouTube videos.
My eventual hope (other than the fact that hula hoops are FUN) is to get crazy hula hooper abs!! Man, if I could learn to hoop in both directions… and then I could just hoop for minutes upon minutes! What a great ab work out. 6 months ago

I talked to the doctor yesterday about my hula hoop. He started laughing. I dunno why I pay to see him, he should call it even with the comic relief I provide. He winds up laughing at all my visits.
Anywho, doctor wants me to wait until I have done a few cardio-rehab monitored walks. Then I am free to start my hula hooping. I am waiting impatiently. Seriously, I have this beautiful custom hula hoop and a goal to accomplish. 7 months ago

First of all, I have to find Hula Hoop for adult. The one for children is too light. This is an advice by my friend. 7 months ago

Okay, so its not me – it’s the hoop! This is my story and I am sticking to it! I have been trying to use a child’s hoop, which my research tells me is a bad idea. I need a larger hoop. Apparently weighting them also aids in learning because the weight slows it down, making mastery easier.
So I am in the process of ordering a custom new larger, heavier hoop in black, hot pink & silver, personalized with the word, BELIEVE, on it. I will NEVER tell a member of my family how much I am spending on this thing as they are all pretty sure this is one of my crazier notions. I am rather convinced it is, too. But hey, I quit smoking, rarely drink, what else do I have to do besides read & play on net? :D 8 months ago

I got it in my head: I want to hula hoop. And not just hula, but I want to be a freakin master of it.
I don’t know where this idea came from, but I went out that second and bought a hoop.
It ended up being a crappy hoop…so I played tug of war with my puppy until it broke. I got my dollar’s worth.
Yesterday, I went out and bought another hoop. A smaller, weighted hoop. Aaaannnnddddd…..I’m not too bad at at it! I can keep it up without it falling. I can go until I’m out of breath. Now…I want to get fancy! There are a few hula hoop classes in NJ. None are too close, but I’m going to try one out anyway. The next class is Tuesday. I’ll let you know how it goes! 8 months ago

Well i guess my hoop isn’t the right height, i can’t even get it to turn around my waist more than once before it drops, i’m not superman i can’t move that damn fast. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCaa7VSn4iU&feature=grec_index i liked this video she shows two ways of doing it plus a side view. Looks like i’m going to have to look for a larger hoop with more weight to it somewheres. 8 months ago

Okay so i finally bought a hula hoop. I suck horribly at it and my record is 3 seconds so far haha. I don’t understand why i suck so bad since i know how to move my hips and dance, but whatever it’s a challenge. I will unlock the mysteries of the hula hoop!
I bought one of those cheap ass ones so i’ll have to get some tape to add more weight to it and look up more videos. This will take awhile. 8 months ago
