That’s the coolest camera EVER.
Not worth it!
Got it just when it came out and what a disappointment it has been for me – good colours but no sharpness or depth…

saved all my money at my part time job for a few months, didn’t spend any of the money. And bought it:)
amazing camera

I haven’t had the chance to really use it for more than just a point and shoot, but the even automatic functions totally blow away my old (beloved, trusty) CoolPix 995. My CoolPix is actually better in one significant way: it has better macro capabilities. But I’m going to get a better lens for the D70s (I’m looking at a Nikkor 105mm f/2 AF-D portrait lens). I also have some manual focus prime lenses that will get me that close.

Exciting experience!
Keep using my compact Fujifilm camera and the new Nikon D70 together.
Two totally different ways ways of taking pictures.

I can’t say enough good things about my new camera. I’ve had it for about 2 weeks now and I’ve shot about 800 pictures with it.
I got a D70s at Henry’s. Body only, I used the lenses from my other Nikon.

This camera will take you beyond the point and shoot and give you an understanding of fundamental photography. Fully automatic yet, if you’d like, fully manual. And you won’t grow out of it for a while…...
Used this in Yearbook class. The best camera i have ever used. I love it.
Saph is being a night owl, as usual!

I haven’t spent much time using it yet, and it took about 6 months of researching and shopping around to find one for the right price (which included 2 awesome Tamron lenses and a 2Gig card. We also have a Nikon SLR and apparently the lenses are interchangeable! Still have to try it yet though, and yes the SLR has AF.).
An excellent digital camera, more pros than cons that you can poke a stick at. Although not deemed a professional model, it can produce professional results. Anyhow they’ve already released the 2nd generation D70. Not only a top contender, but worth considering if you are looking a digital SLR. (Just do a search for reviews on the internet.)
