save a life

I want to make a difference in a person’s life, it doesn’t have to be dramatic, but I always wanted to save someone.

I just got certified as an EMT, I would love to save a life now.

Self Explanatory.

My entry for doing something selfless is the story of a man i saved from drowning. But i’ve also witnessed the death of several close friends and been helpless to do anything about it. I don’t know if i’ve ever done anything to truly save anyone in the way i’ve been helped.

The more I think about this, the more I think that me, along with possibly everyone on this list, on this site, in the country, in the world has saved a live. If we go by the belief that everything is connected, then surely, sometime in my life I have saved someone, at least indirectly.

Something you did, something you said, somewhere you visited, or maybe it was something you didn’t do that saved a life. Maybe you calmed someone down, maybe you moved something out of the way, maybe you convinced someone to do something else. Surely all of us has saved someone else?

That’s all very well, but I’m not marking this as done until I literally pull someone from a crashed burning space station before it collides into the sea in a climactic explosion.

I watch the streets and keep an ear to the ground hoping that I can help when someone is in trouble, but as of yet, no luck. I want to save someone’s life in the literal sense (burning building, drowning, etc), and also in the figurative sense (help someone get off the streets, drugs, etc)

i hide a lot of my past, its not that i’m ashamed of my past, my past has shaped me into the person i am today. i have been anorexic because i have grown up thinking i’m fat yet although i do not like the appearance of my body and i do not feel comfortable being naked i dont let that make me feel ashamed. i have had someone close attack me. i do not trust people this also ties into the most recent event in my life. i was raped by a close friend. i reported it and the grand jury dropped the case because i “consented him to come into my room” if i could do one thing before i die i want to save a life. give someone else a chance to have a voice. let them be heard. i have never been able to come out and openly say what’s happened so i want to give someone else that chance.

How great would it be to do this?

My step sister didn’t know how to swim and was playing in shallow water. Suddenly, she slipped off an underwater ridge and was dragged by the current. I was on the river’s bank and without thinking, jumped in and rescued her.

When we got out safe, her grandparents scolded me: “Why did you jump in the river with all your clothes on?”

I want to save life. Even if its only just one, it will make all the difference in the world to that one person.
