read my bible everyday

I read my Bible first thing when I woke up today. :)

I always say I want to do this, but I always neglect to pick up my Bible and actually read it. I’ve only Managed to do it once, and it only lasted a week. So I’m gonna try again. :)

I’ve been really good about opening my bible and reading every morning. That is…every morning except Saturday. It’s comical when I think about it but is Saturday NOT a day that the Lord has made? Does my spirit only need nourishment Sunday-Friday? I am an avid reader and always read chrisitian literature (even on Saturday) but it’s still not the B-I-B-L-E. I am aware so I will correct:)

Currently I’m studying the life of David with an online reading group and we are using Max Lucado’s Facing Your Giants. The main reference scripture comes from I Samuel so this is where I’ve been directing my readings as of late. I’ve also read some of the Psalms (most of which were written by David).

In unpacking my stuff (just moved) I found a comentary on Acts! I felt as though I’d struck gold! I unpacked it and am looking through it to see if I missed anything in my study.

I’ve read the first 21 chapters and completed a study guide on them. I’ve been back on track for the last 3 days now!

I’ve kind of changed my plans. I am reading the book of Acts currently and completing a study guide on it as well. So far, so good.

I have been following a reading program from Gateway to the Bible and reading the Bible in the order in which it was written. It’s a different approach than just reading it from Genesis to Revelation. I am also reading the books in the Catholic bible that do not appear in the Protestant versions. I became interested in reading those books while I was taking some classes at a Catholic college and one such course was Old Testament Scripture.

today I didn’t do it so I made a system. Everytime i don’t do it I set my alarm back 5 more minutes. soon I’ll get tired and just satr doing it. After everytime I do it I move it up one minute.

I will use lifeway.com or similar site for a reading plan and I will stick to it! I think mornings are the best time for me to devote to this.
