I remember you could “design your own burger” :-) These old Burger Chefs got bought up by Hardee’s, is what I understand. Years ago, when my Dad was a meat salesman (although not to fast food joints.) sometimes I’d go with him on his route, and we’d eat at the Burger Chef in Ironwood,Michigan along the way.

I think there punishing me for speaking out against the “give up list” issue, by not allowing my Pizza Hut Pete photo to show up anymore.
Well…. I did find a similar photo. C’mon ‘bots let me post this photo, no one from Pizza Hut is sueing me that I’m aware of.

I remember the first Hardee’s that me and my Dad would eat at. He’s take me there and eat the food too, even though I loved the burgers they had in the ‘70s, the Huskee Jr. in particular. My Dad (who happened to be a chef.) would complain about “too much glop” on the burgers. The Hardee’s here eventually moved into a bigger place across the street, and a Maytag laundromat moved into its old location. The laundromat still has the outdoor tables and swivel type chairs with old Hardee’s “H” logo on them, and the old Hardee’s kept the pictures of Gilbert Giddyup and Speedy McGreedy on their walls even after Hardee’s stopped using those characters.

....

My inner child just wants to reminisce about characters used in advertising during my youth. These were fun, and somehow were a warm fuzzy to me. They seem to mostly be know part of a bygone era, but they were fun while they lasted.
First up we have “Pizza Hut Pete”. I used to have these bag puppets when I was a little kid. Back in the 70’s, Pizza Hut used to give these away to kids that ate there, and then the games and the puzzles on the back of placemats were a lot of fun too.
I still remember that back in the 70’s Pizza Hut had a pretty basic menu. Small, Medium or Large Pizza. No fancy pizzas or crusts. And no unusual toppings. I think then they just had Cheese, Sausage, Pepperoni, Green Peppers, Mushrooms, and I think they also had Anchovies, which they haven’t had on their menu in decades. They had a ham and cheese sandwich, a supreme sandwich, and spaghetti. And that was about the extent of their menu. Later on they would of course make many changes.

Thankfully on the 7th, “little Frannie” spent time with the niece and nephew because on the 8th, she had to stay under wraps.
I had 2 wakes to attend and the adult Frannie was in charge. There are times when I really don’t like being a grown-up and Sunday was one of them.

Hmm, the 8th of the month.
I shall go for a walk (Je’s at work) and play in the strong breezes of Hurricane Ida. I love the winds!
Then I shall come home and have a chocolate brownie. Yummy!
Off to play…=)
Anyway, about a week ago our friend Lorraine came over and played Clue and Yahtzee with us. I won at Clue, only it was partly because of a misunderstanding of the rules, and Charmaine would have won the game otherwise. (I didn’t think you could make a “suggestion” and an “accusation” on the same turn, it turns out, you can. So I’ll have to remember that the next time we play.)
Then we played 2 games of Yahtzee in which I had no luck at all, and Charmaine and Lorraine slaughtered me at both of those games.
