I’m going to really go to town on pampering myself this morning:
• Pluck eyebrows
• De-fur: too much information, but you get the drift, lol
• Honey face mask
• Dry body brush
• Exfoliating body scrub
• Ped-egg on feet
• Coconut oil on hair to deep condition it
• Moisturise all over – slather it on
I was looking at pics of myself the other day, and I really do have nice skin. It kind of gleams and glows, it’s nice, considering my vast age (40). I think it’s because I’ve looked after it for years and years, and the pay-off is wonderful. I think it doesn’t really matter what you do to yourself in terms of treatments, so long as you do it regularly. I don’t know, but anyway, pampering session this morning, which will make me feel nice all week.

This one is kind of cheating, perhaps. But I do it because I like the way it exfoliates my skin – basically spread honey all over my face and bits of my hair (by accident), leave it on for ten minutes, then gently rub in brown sugar and rinse the whole shebang off. It is an amazing exfoliator, and honey is supposed to be this miracle antiseptic etc. I like it, but I do have to be careful not to take my top layer of skin off!

This turned out to be astonishingly gloopy, and I think I’ve blocked the shower, but wow, such great results!
It was basically a tablespoon plus of natural yoghurt and then a generous amount of oats mixed in to form a kind of paste. Then smear it on clean skin for ten minutes – because it kept dripping, I sort of made a paste over my face, neck, upper chest and boobs, and because the yoghurt was cold from the fridge it was actually quite nice to put on. It didn’t dry out exactly, because I didn’t wait for long enough, but it rinsed off easily enough.
The result is very very creamy clear skin, that just looks so fresh and rejuvenated. I think it’s a very gentle exfoliating cream, but I had forgotten that oats are wondrous when rubbed on to your skin, because they are kind of creamy. I really do recommend this one, it’s so nice to try.
I put on some nice body butter afterwards, and also used the ped-egg to get my feet smooth as silk. I even put on under eye cream and some Vaseline on my eyelashes, and now I feel all pampered and sleepy, so that was good.
I’ve used moisturiser on my face and body since I was 16 on a daily basis, and I have to say it’s really paying off. I think that any kind of ‘treatment’ isn’t really about the magic ingredients, it’s about the regularity with which you do it. So messing around with all these treatments is a lot of fun, and it will have a cumulative effect, I think….
Such a frivolous goal!

Yes sirree, who said that this had to be expensive, huh? I am sitting here with an egg white face mask on, and it’s the weirdest sensation ever – I can feel my skin being tightened up more than I have ever experienced. It’s astonishing. I will rinse off in ten minutes, and will look like I’m 14 (I hope!).
Have just done a honey and brown sugar hand scrub – this is the simplest and easiest beauty treat that I know that works. I try to do it once a week, and all it is to pour a generous dollop of honey in your cupped palm, add a generous scoop of brown sugar, and then RUB. Take about five minutes to rub into your hands, and then simply rinse off, apply lots of hand cream, and voila, your hands will feel satiny smooth and unbelievably soft. It’s the nicest trick ever, because it’s so cheap, so easy, so painless – water rinses it all off.
There is definitely something to be said for this goal, because the more time I lavish on myself, the better I feel. It just feels like I am worth spending time pampering – self-care is incredibly important, and I am loving being conscious of this. I may not be my ideal weight etc, but I can look incredibly sleek, glamorous, well-groomed and utterly luscious!

I’m doing really well on this one. I am pampering myself so much, and you know what? It has a great knock-on effect on how I feel about myself. On my birthday, women were asking me what I do to have such amazing skin (great confidence boost). I have used sunblock since I was 18, because of a sun allergy. I take make-off every night using olive oil (which I wipe off with hot clothes), and then cleanse and moisturise, and I do look unlined and fab.
Today I had a lovely session looking after myself:
• Manicure
• Pedicure (hail to the glorious ped-egg invention!)
• Sauna face mask
• Remove all body hair
• Olive oil/brown sugar body scrub
• Moisturise all over with shea body butter
• Heavy duty cream on feet and elbows
I feel I look really good, and because I have been doing regular beauty things for weeks, I just feel all glossy and lovely.
I bought some new make-up today – I adore mineral make-up foundation, it has transformed my look. What a great discovery! Make-up is truly phenomenally good at the moment, I feel like I am looking better than ever.
