I’ve run across both good indie bookstores and bad ones (ones totally full of romance novels). I try to buy from them as much as I can, usually finding some obscure stuff. I have fond memories of raiding one in Saratoga Springs, NY with my best friend who was hunting for philosophy books, and they were definitely loaded.
