I’ve been knitting to keep my sanity of late. I finished another scarf for HAN…this time the foundation gave our group $250 to buy yarn for knitting these scarves, and this was some yarn from that purchase. I was a bit leary of coming up with a pattern for brown and gray yarn that would appeal to middle school girls, but this scarf came out pretty well.

Here’s my first scarf finished this year for the O’Brien Middle School project. It was also my first double-knitting project! Seriously addicted to double knitting, although it was pretty time-consuming. 3 months ago

Last night I finished another scarf to donate to the Hot August Nights Foundation. They charity is collecting scarves for donation to middle school girls.
Going to make one more soon for this charity, as I’ve got more yarn to use up and a long car ride coming up soon.
Picture shows the second one I made using the Farrow Ridge pattern. 15 months ago

I finished another scarf for the Hot August Nights Foundation. These scarves are intended for junior high school girls….I think this one came out great for a young teenager. The yarn I used was Lion Brand Amazing, and it makes the stripes all by itself!
I’ve found I really enjoy knitting scarves, but how many do I need? Not so many, so I’m glad to have a charity who can use these! 15 months ago

THe Hot August Nights Foundation is a big charity here in Reno. Their main focus is to encourage kids to stay in school. Our group is helping them make knitted scarves to donate to all the girls at a middle school here in town. Yesterday, I finished my first donation for this cause….would have taken a picture but I already donated it! 18 months ago
