MissaUnfortunately, this will benefit this goal

We seem to have a little dampness under our sectional in the basement. It has stained the carpeting (only 2 yrs old) the color of the legs of the couch. I think we’re going to get a steamcleaner. This will make me clean out the basement. 3 years ago

MissaDH stored the CDs that have been downloaded

I purged out some books and put some pictures in photo albums. The top of the desk is visible and everything on the bookshelf makes sense. I must keep going. 3 years ago

MissaDid some purging last night

I’m trying to get DH into the “less is best” mode for house selling. 3 years ago

MissaWow

It is amazing how crap collects in a place like a family room. I really need to do something about this. I did as much as I could last night, but this is going to need some long term commitments. 3 years ago

MissaMade progress on this!

We got all of the outgrown babyclothes and toys out of the basement into the attic. If we put the house on the market next year, we are renting one of those pods to prepack everything. 3 years ago

MissaI've noticed the clutter building up

most of it is baby stuff Andrew has outgrown. We need to store it in hopes of using it for baby #2. But I hope we can store it in the attic. 3 years ago

IlonaliveUntitled

We’ve lived in this house three and a half years. There’s stuff down there we have not looked at once in that time. Anything that can be ignored that long (except the tax files) we Do.Not.Need. Enough with the stuff!

Except every time I go down there, I am just overcome with inertia. I simply don’t know where to start. It doesn’t help that much (most?) of the stuff is not mine, but mostly I just feel overwhelmed. Oh, well. One bite at a time, right? 3 years ago

PaulinehaWell, I've started.....

thanks to all the rain this past weekend (and previous 7 days). It took it’s toll and our basement was starting to get wet. So, I was able to go through a bunch of stuff and start getting rid of it. Still have more to go, but was able to do a bulk of it yesterday! 6 years ago

PaulinehaDecluttering the basement

Hmm, I remember when we first moved here…(I was 9 months pregnant with our first child)...the basement was HUGE! We never thought we’d fill it. Now it is so cluttered and hard to walk around.
We also have 3 kids now….so I don’t have much time. However, I believe this goal is fully doable. I can do it in 15 minute chunks, a little each day, each week…whenever I have time. Then, if I have more time I can do more. 6 years ago
